School Donation
2021 School Fees and Donations
Annual optional and voluntary donation for one child: $300
Two or more children per family: $450
The Board of Trustees asks all families for a optional and voluntary donation to contribute to school funds. This goes towards additional learning resources not funded by the government and covers resources that all students benefit from such as 'take home' items from the technology and arts programmes, additional devices such as the school chromebook computers and subsidising the cost of visiting experts and field trips. The Board recommends an annual optional and voluntary donation of $300 if one child is attending the school or $450 total if there are two or more. A receipt will be provided and this may be used for tax deduction purposes. All and any donations will be used to enhance students' learning and help Kowhai provide the best possible programmes.
Donations can be made in a lump sum or in instalments. We will send out a termly report to you. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, Eftpos, credit card, automatic payment or Internet banking.
If you need any further information about this please call Juanita Potgieter (Executive Officer) on (09)846 7534.
TAXGIFT SCHOOL
We’re a TaxGift School! You can grow your donations to Kowhai Intermediate by signing up to TaxGift and gifting the tax credits on your donations to us from this year forward.
It’s the easiest fundraising you’ll ever do. With TaxGift, your donations are boosted by up to 43% at no cost to you. Just think about the impact – if your donations would usually provide resources for two classrooms, by all of us TaxGifting, we could grow that to three classrooms!
Here’s how:
As a NZ taxpayer you can claim a tax credit of 33% on the school donations you make, but if you choose to gift that tax credit to us, TaxGift will turn it into even more for our school – all as a gift in your name.
It takes less than a minute for you to sign up, costs you nothing (we pay TaxGift a small fee for this service) and you won’t need to do anything further. TaxGift and myKindo will make your donation grow.
Simply opt into TaxGift when you make your next donation via myKindo (if you’ve already donated, simply log in to your account and select ‘TaxGift’ as your rebate tax agent from your details page).

Whānau Support & Helpers for Trips and Camps
- Police Vetting
Please be aware that it takes 30 days for a vet to be completed and that the school office needs to sight 2 forms of ID (as detailed below) so these steps need to be done well before the event.
To ensure student's well-being, and in compliance with the 'Vulnerable Children Act 2014', all non staff volunteers and helpers must obtain police vetting clearance if they will be in contact with students without direct teacher supervision or if they will be staying overnight as part of an event.
Here is a direct link to the 'PVS Vetting and Request Form' that needs to be completed. If you need further information you can visit this page.
If need be you can pick up a copy of the form from the school office or request that one is sent home with your child.
Please Bring your ID to the school office to be verified
The school, as an approved vetting agency, must verify your identity by sighting two forms of ID with you present. At least one of these IDs must be photographic. Once these have been seen by our office staff they will take a copy of them, sign and date the copies and submit these along with the official vetting form for consideration.
We must receive all applications at least 20 days prior to allow for the processing time.
Many of our events are only possible with parental and whānau support and we strongly encourage our community to be involved in the many diverse and exciting opportunities we offer our students outside of the classroom. We thank all of our helpers past, present and future!
