The Role of the Board of Trustees

Boards of trustees play a critical role in partnership with the school principal to ensure all children at the school succeed.
The responsibility of a Board is that of governance and overview of management of the school via the Charter and Annual Plan prepared by the Board with reference to the stakeholder groups at the school.
Daily management of the school is the responsibility of the principal and the teacher team. A Board member is not expected or required to spend time involved in day to day management of school activities.
The Board meets from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm on Monday evenings once a month from February to December. There may be occasional additional meetings due to special projects etc which may involve the Board.
The Board environment is friendly and encourages input from all Board members. The Board is a member of the New Zealand School Trustees Association (“NZSTA”) and has access to all training material, courses and expert advice offered by the NZSTA.

The current Board of Trustees members are:

  • - Katie Corner (Presiding Member)

    - Louise Broad (Principal)

    - Malcolm O'Neil (member)

    - John Stradwick (member)

    - Corvette Harrison (member)

    - Teena Enoka (member)

    - Tom Cloonan (Staff Representative)
